Learning a language the Village Camps
way is more than simply learning vocabulary and grammar.
Students are tested at the beginning of a camp session
and placed into classes according to ability. Emphasis for language classes is focused on
communicating through lots of teamwork, games and
exercises. The main idea is to always try to
speak in English or French depending on which class is
taken. Classes don't necessarily have to take
place in regular
classrooms -- in Leysin they are just as likely to occur
in a café in the village, on a hike in the mountains, or
at the revolving restaurant on the Berneuse. |
